What type of games are you looking to play? That will play a major role in what components I recommend. I just built my current desktop less than a year ago.

Agreed, we will need a few details to help you more accurately:
- What size is the case? ATX? Mini ATX?
- What kind of games are you looking to play?
- What is your budget?
From there we should be able to zero in quite a bit more. Keep in mind that solid rigs can be had for around $1k, but of course you can always spend more on certain components that will be able to handle more.

Ok so you've got a Mid ATX and you told me today at work that you'd like to play a wide variety of games...
