blustrkr's Starfield Review Xbox Series X|S

You can tell Bethesda has put quite a lot of work into the Creation Engine (everyone's favorite horse to beat). Textures are far more detailed for today's generation of gaming, facial animations look much more detailed, draw distance has improved, and the variety in atmospheric lighting conditions looks great. I also have to specifically point out that Bethesda killed it on the weaponry, and even the reload animations. To me they looked better than some of today's leading FPS games, which is awesome and unexpected.

The visuals are very satisfying!

Overall I'd say this has been a smooth Bethesda launch with few game-breaking bugs, but I do run into the occasional game crash on Series X. I have also read reports from others that say it becomes more common the longer your file's playtime becomes, which seems to correlate with my experience so far. The only way to mitigate it is to essentially start a new game or New Game+. As of the time of writing, Bethesda says they have a patch in the works for release next week.

If you love open world sci-fi games, or Bethesda games in general, this will be right up your alley and I would consider this a "must-have."
